Great Sushi

We had to come to Tennessee to have the best sushi ever! The service was excellent, and the prices very reasonable.

Not fancy but good Japanese cuisine at a fair price.

Very good food Fantasic even. The steak was so tender. Our waitress was Madison and she did an excellent job. We got two steak dinners veggies rice and soups all for under 35.00. They are busy but still fast.

Horrible service!!! Took order wrong, did not clean away empty bowls from salad and soup, had to ask for something to drink, and to top off the cashier basically threw the receipt at me and told me to sign it. Food was not great either.

Good service and good Americana sushi and choices of complimentary items. Portions are decent and all had flavor. Looking forward to going again.

Good food. Okay service. Seated near the pick up line so a bit annoying... teenager yapping on her phone right next to our table- but on the bright side I now know what is going on with Nichole Kidman and the show Big Little lies. 🙄 May come in handy some day. You never know...

Always good food but they seem to be getting a little skimpy on the food lately. They give more if you say something.

Food is good but service sucked. They did have a sign that said their looking for a new server. Maybe that explains it.but our server went to the people behind us like 5 times asking if food was good,refills, laughing ect before even bringing our drinks to us.took forever to get our food. BUT food is excellent. Also no changing table in the bathrooms which sucked had to go all the way back out to the car to change our baby girls diaper.

Once again another good Japanese restaurant where the food is tasty at very reasonable prices!

One of my favorite places to eat in Athens. Excellent portions well prepared and very tasty. Imperial dinner is awesome if you are hungry. Pictures are of chicken and shrimp lunch portions and onion soup

Not too impressed. At first glance it looks nice and the waitress was pleasant. The food however was not that exciting. Ordered pot stickers, I thought said pan fried. They were these little streamed dots, mushy and not very good. The fillet dinner was ok but they drowned the veggies in I believe teriyaki sauce. Not sure but I believe the rice was Uncle Ben's? The sushi was good, the California roll was good. the best thing probably was the tempura shrimp roll. I would have that again.

No need to drive 30 + minutes to a big city for good Hibachi. This place has been around for about 8 or so years and they are still so delicious. Delicious, fast, and cheap...

Good food. Typical Japanese cuisine found in American Japanese restaurants. Sushi is good here. Call in orders to-go are usually ready pretty quick. Friday & Saturday nights can be pretty busy & crowded at times. Sunday afternoons can be busy as well.

Great hibachi, great sushi and located next to the gorgeous Athens Movie Palace. With decent prices and delicious dinners, this is the perfect spot for dinner and a movie dates. I highly recommend the spicy tuna rolls. For a great meal that offers some variety from the standard fair I highly recommend this gem.

Good hibachi, decent shusi, and great prices. Note that they don't do the whole song and dance routine one might expect at a Japanese steakhouse, though I consider that a plus since you actually get your food served in a timeframe that supports going there on a lunch break.

We have been going here for about a year or so Normally we have always had a pretty good experience But tonight was the kicker nothing went well except for the waitress was great The steak was raw asked for medium well and a well done, the soup was mixed with another soup? Disgusting The cashier is always rude or says nothing at all this girl needs to at least smile and greet the customers where are the manners.... NEVER AGAIN

Great food for a small town!

Sushi and hibachi are great, the service is always great. We have tried many hibachi places in our area and Yamato is our absolute favorite. The shrimp tempura roll is amazing, and all the hibachi plates are too. Even the shrimp sauce and ginger dressing are a step above the rest. The dinner portion feeds me twice! Best leftovers ever

I love Yamato ! I have been going here for years. They have the absolute best sushi in this area. Great presentation and it is delicious and very fresh. Their specialty rolls are off the charts! My favorite dish for dinner is their Bento Box. I really enjoy the teriyaki chicken box. It comes with a salad for starts with housemade ginger dressing. You then get their Miso Soup, simple but so tasty. Lastly is main course: fried rice, spring roll, 4 pieces California sushi roll served with wasabi and pickled ginger, and then of course teriyaki chicken with carmelized onions! And if you like dessert be sure to try their fried icecream!
